Active Membership in the California Academy of Eye Physicians and Surgeons is open to licensed California physicians and surgeons practicing ophthalmology or retired from such licensed practice (may be from another state), as well as those residents and fellows in qualifying training programs located within the state.

 

By applying or renewing you are attesting that you meet the requirements for the specific type of membership sought, and agree that this information may be verified to the satisfaction of the organization.

 

CAEPS uses electronic communication to limit expenses and maximize utility of your dues. by voluntarily submitting the fax number and/or e-mail address above you are authorizing ongoing distribution of publications and other communication by CAEPS for organization business (which may include notification of services offered by or available through CAEPS) through those means provided. This authority may be modified at any time by contacting CAEPS.


 

CAEPS PAC (MDEyePAC of California) is the political action committee for the California Academy of Eye Physicians & Surgeons. Contributions to this committee are used to support candidates and elected officials who are supportive of the organization's goals, which include assuring access to an ophthalmologist's care and expertise.

 

Membership dues are not deductible as a charitable contribution for federal income tax purposes. However, dues [excluding amounts for lobbying purposes, typically 25-40% (an exact amount will be reported in our member publications annually, usually in January; contact CAEPS if you have questions about this amount before deducting dues for tax purposes)] may be deductible by members as an ordinary necessary business expense. Contributions to Political Action Committees (including MDEyePAC of California) are voluntary and not deductible for federal income tax purposes. A decision not to contribute will not affect your CAEPS membership status.

 

Political Contributions are subject to Proposition 34 limits and state reporting requirements.
